Mrs. Schafer and Mrs. Keeling teamed up and created a key events sequencing activity for the book Findle. Students had to put the events in order to drive the robots without running into a road block. We were impressed and proud of how hard this class worked, they even had some fun!

Monday 5/12, Mrs Ruppert's Animal Science class toured Borgic Farms in Nokomis that is housed on 9 acres. Borgics produced 450,000 pigs per year, has 16,000 sows total between 2 sites. They breed 60-80 head per day and ship their weaned pigs off to 56 different finishing sites. Students experienced the wash-in, wash-out biosecurity for the farm to practice health management for all pigs on site. They learned more about breeding techniques, body scoring for bred animals, gestation and farrowing care, along with Borgics overall business and feeding management of all sites. They had the opportunity to watch some piglets be born, Noah was brave enough to help pull one even! They definitely enjoyed holding the piglets at the end.
