We want to inform you that we are currently experiencing a bus driver shortage. Please know that we are doing everything we can to ensure students are transported safely to and from school. However, there may be times when a bus route is canceled, or your child may arrive home later than usual due to drivers covering double routes. We will do our best to notify you in a timely manner.
We understand that this may cause inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these challenges. Your child’s safety remains our top priority, and we will keep you updated on any changes.

Congratulations to the Pana High School Lady Panthers Volleyball Teams on being named to the IHSA Best of the Rest! Pana Volleyball just missed the cut in making the list of the Top 50 IHSA Girls Volleyball Programs from 1974-2024, but received votes from multiple committee members and was named to the Best of the Rest! What an accomplishment!

Arrival line Day 1: Completed at 8:18am

Kindergarten dismissal Day 1: Completed in 22 minutes
Kindergarten dismissal Day 2: Completed in 14 minutes

Drop off at the HS today was fantastic! Thank you. Please note the following change for pick up. Cars in the North/Student Lot will exit to the right out of the South West exit, nearest the JH, until the buses have left. Once the buses have left the East exit will open for cars to exit left onto School Drive. Thank you for your patience as we attempt to make the process as efficient as possible.
PJHS Parents and Guardians:
Thank you for such a smooth drop off and pick up on Friday. Traffic at the junior high flower smoothly and quickly, and we thank you for following procedures so well.
One reminder - please refrain from using the bus exchange (north parking lot) to drop your children off. We want to keep that area completely clear for bus traffic.
Thank you for your help as we transition to having three buildings on one campus!
Pana Elementary School will be making a few subtle changes before this week’s arrival and dismissal. (3 photos in post)
1) There will be 2 lines of traffic (as shown in the photos) for arrival and dismissal. These lines of traffic will merge once near the school. These lanes will be coned off.
2) It is recommended that when exiting PES onto Panther Drive any traffic that decides to go LEFT onto Chestnut (north) should take a RIGHT onto 9th street (towards Pana Community Hospital) in order to avoid heavy traffic. This is shown in a photo below.
3) During dropoff, traffic should pull all the way forward towards the playground at PES until stopped by a staff member.
4) At pickup, 2nd-5th grade parents should be prepared to share the name of their student/teacher’s name to PES staff members assisting with dismissal.

First, thank you to all community members for your patience on Friday during drop off and pick up. Reminder. High School traffic should flow onto School Drive from 7th St. Please abide by the following adjustments as we continue to refine the process to make it as efficient as possible. The North lot in front of the high school is for student parking. Do not use the lot for pick up or drop off. Please do not arrive early and park in the circle drive for pick up. Parked cars back up traffic and congest School Drive. Thank you for helping us make drop off and pick up as efficient as possible.
