Musicians of the Pana High School Band & Choir recently competed in the IHSA State Solo & Ensemble Music Contest. Our PHS students earned eleven Division I (Superior) ratings, five Division II (Excellent) ratings, and one Division III rating (Good). Congratulations!
3rd Grade Teachers at Lincoln Elementary are using “March Madness” to promote math and reading fun. Students will be reading and comparing books by voting on favorites to move on in the brackets. They will be reinforcing a few of the reading skills by setting a purpose for reading and focusing on comprehension, fluency, prediction,main idea and summarization. Math skills like predicting, sorting, grouping and data collection are also addressed in this fun activity that reinforces our IL State Standards in a fun and engaging way.

Baby Shark, doot doo-doo-doot-doo-doo... Zoology & Botany students are tackling a tough dissection this week; not a baby shark, but the adult spiny dogfish!
As we approached the one year landmark of the covid pandemic, the staff at Lincoln Elementary enjoyed a Staff Appreciation -Taco Bar Lunch “Taco Bout A Crazy Year” on our last remote planning day together.
PJHS Spring Picture Day is coming up on Thursday, March 25th. Information will be sent home tomorrow with students.

The PJHS book fair kicks off this week. Friday was Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Day. Winners received a $10 gift certificate for the book fair. Winners were: Brayden Nochta (6th), Brandon Schulz (7th), Cassidy Wafford (8th), and Mr. Pierce (staff)!
