Does it look like a rainbow? That is not the main point of the project.

All painting students learned how to mix paint colors.  Students even got to choose their own subject matter.

  • Three primary colors are: red, yellow, and blue. These are untouchable and cannot be mixed to get either of these hues.  Think of Superman!

  • The three secondary colors: orange, green, and purple.  These are made with the primary colors.

  • The six intermediate (tertiary) colors are: red-orange, yellow-orange, blue-green, yellow-green, red-violet, and blue-violet.  These are made with the primary and secondary colors.

All 12 colors make up the color wheel.  When put together, you, the viewer, can see the color spectrum.
