Welcome To Mrs. Tynan's Web Page

Kindergarten and First Grade have been learning about instruments. We learned that instruments are grouped in families just like we are! Ask your kids what the 4 families are. We are finishing up with the percussion family right now. They will get turns playing on the piano (with the lid open so they can see the hammers & strings). Next we'll be playing xylophones. The kids always love this. I will have my tylenol handy!!!

Rhythm is our on-going theme in music. We have learned quarter notes (but we call them tahs), rests and eighth notes (called ti-tis). Your students are becoming awesome rhythm readers.

5th and 6th grade music students are finishing up this quarter with me. I've had lots of fun with them. I received a grant to purchase piano keyboards. They've had lots of fun.
